Winter Wheat: Websites for Writers

Websites-for-Writers Hi friends! If you live in Southeast Michigan or Northern Ohio and have an interest in writing, be sure to check out the Winter Wheat Festival of Writing this weekend. You'll find me there leading a session on Saturday: Websites for Writers - Launch Your Website in a Weekend. I'll be reviewing some of the great options out there to set up a simple website for little or no cost, and help you evaluate which one is best for you. If you can't make it, I'll be posting a review on my blog next week.

Here's the session description:

Having a web presence has become increasingly important for networking, job searches, and establishing yourself as a professional writer. Your website can act as your online business card or resume, and serve as an archive for your publications, and with a blog it can provide your own platform for sharing your writing. Where do you begin, and how can you do it for little to no cost? In this session, we’ll go over some of the most popular website platforms to determine what will work best for you and how to set up a professional website with a custom look and feel.

The festival has a lot of great sessions for writers of all kinds, many of them offered by dear friends and colleagues from grad school. Learn more and register to attend here. Hope to see you there!
